Top Ten Tuesday: Popular Books that Lived Up to the Hype

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Okay I know this week’s prompt is supposed to be the Mash Up but I really have no idea what books should I mashed up, and also I missed this interesting last week’s prompt so I’m gonna do this instead, top 10 books that lived up to the hype!

People have been talking about the magical writing of Laini Taylor and the whimsical world in Strange the Dreamer and I finally read it last year, it instantly become my favorite, I can’t believe I didn’t read it sooner!

The City of Brass is a very magical book with such an interesting story about Djinn! You know I have a soft spot about Djinn and Middle East setting! This book has it all, the characters are flawed but awesome, I can’t get enough of the plot and the wonderful worldbuilding. It was one of my favorite book last year too!

Aru Shah in the End of Time is the first book in Rick Riordan present so this book got the spotlight! Rick Riordan fans all over the world are waiting for this book and it was totally worth it!

You know how hype Illuminae is few years ago, it has the most unique format and a very refreshing story in SciFi genre, of course it’s worth the hype!

Another fabulous work by Jay Kristoff, after Illuminae series, a lot of fans are looking forward to another Sci-Fi books by him. I honestly a little bit nervous to read Lifel1k3 because I was afraid that it won’t surpass Illuminae but BOY I WAS WRONG!!

Children of Blood and Bone is literally everywhere! And I’m glad I pick it up the soon as it’s released because it was EPIC!! I finished 400-ish pages in one sit in case you’re wondering how good this book is!

Ready Player One is probably the first Sci-Fi book I read, I was unfamiliar with the genre back in the day and I’m glad this one pull me in!

To be honest, I read Cinder just because of the hype, I knew nothing about the book but I was so curious to see whats the hype about! And yes, it hooked me in from the very first page!!

Apollo is casted out to earth as a flabby teen human? COUNT ME IN! The Hidden Oracle is the first book in the series and I totally love this, I love Lester and Meg, and I really miss the crew. This series is perfect!!

And the last hyped book that deserve it all is Harry Potter! No further explanation needed!

Do you agree with all of my choices here? What book would you add to this list? Leave me your TTT link so I could check it out!

    1. I actually love the book more than the movie, but I didn’t think the movie was that bad. Lifel1k3 is soo good, it’s SciFi where there are robots and stuff, I’m sorry I’m suck at explaining things, but if you ever want to read SciFi please pick it up!!

  3. I agree with many of your choices – and as for the rest, I haven’t read them yet but I’m sure they’re also amazing! Illuminae is such an amazing series that I’m really excited to read LifeL1k3!
