To be quite honest, I don’t really like character driven books. I couldn’t care less about the characters if the worldbuilding is confusing and the plot is dragging too much! I’d prefer plot driven books even if the characters are so badly written and sometimes make me want to strangle them (yes, I’m looking at you Mare Barrow!).

But I have to admit that some authors did a really great job in creating their characters. And these are some of the books that I think are more prominent than the plot itself.

The Raven Cycle

Of course this book will be in my number one list. You all know how much I despise this book because of the slow pace and pointless plot, and the confusing worldbuilding. But I have to admit that the characters in this series are so complex. I love Ronan the most, and I’m sorry love but I can’t, I just can’t continue reading the books, I just had enough.

Six of Crows

Maybe it’s my fault because I didn’t read The Grisha Trilogy first before I read this. And it makes me confuse by the bizarre terms. I didn’t really like the plot but I love some of the characters so much. Inej, Nina, Matthias are so well written!

The Young Elite

I can’t really say that this is character driven book because I love the plot and the worldbuilding too. But I have to mention Adelina Amouteru because she’s the most interesting character I’ve ever read, it’s amazing how she could change dramatically throughout the books and how the world evolve around her.

The Dollar Kids

This book is about Lowen who lost his bestfriend and feel responsible for what happened. Basically this book is about overcoming grief and how to deal with guilt. The plot is so fricking slow but to watch Lowen slowly recover from his past and try to move on is a really touching story and really worth to read.

Heartless

Okay this might be a very unpopular opinion because I know so many people hate Cath. But I actually in love with Cath’s character, and I’m amaze by how a sweet girl like Cath could become the evil Queen of Hearts.
