Coffee Book Tag

I saw this really fun book tag a long time ago, I made the draft immediately and it was completely forgotten until today! Sadly I don’t remember where I saw this tag and I don’t even know who created this tag, so if you know please tell me so I can pingback to them!

Black Coffee: Name a series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans.

I’m gonna go with The Raven Cycle, I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel like this series is really hard to get into. With that lyrical writing, purple prose, slow plot, and confusing worldbuilding, I ‘m amaze by how many people love this series. But I have to admit that the characters are great!

Peppermint Mocha: Name a book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of year

I thinks it’s Harry Potter? For some reason winter always remind me of Harry Potter. I don’t know if anyone feel the same, let me know if you feel like this too!

Hot Chocolate: What is your favourite children’s book?

Okay, again, I’m gonna go with Harry Potter. Because this is the series that got me into reading and I will forever treasure them!

Double Shot of Espresso: Name a book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish

It’s totally Children of Blood and Bone! That book is full of emotions and I literally could feel them, it made me nervous and restless! IT IS THE BEST BOOK!

Starbucks: Name a book you see everywhere

I have to say ACOTAR. This book is everywhere but I’m not even interested to read that series, I just have a feeling that I won’t like it.

That Hipster Coffee Shop: Give a book by an indie author a shoutout

The Crowns of Croswald is a middle grade fantasy debut by D.E. Night. If you love Harry Potter then be sure to check this one out!

Oops! I Accidentally Got Decaf: Name a book you were expecting more of

A Wrinke in Time. I’ve heard about the book since  forever because it was said the best Sci-Fantasy book? But I haven’t actually read it until a few months ago and I was so disappointed, I can’t even elaborate it right now, but I clearly expect much more than that.

The Perfect Blend: Name a book or series that was both bitter and sweet, but ultimately satisfying

ILLUMINAE! It’s heartbreaking to read but also sweet, but also heartbreaking! Ok, I’m repeating myself but seriously guys 😭

The Selection series. It’s a guilty pleasure read because normally I don’t like cheesy romance but this series is captivating and beautiful. I wish there were more books in the series!

Chai Tea: Name a book or series that makes you dream of far off places

It has to be Warcross or any books that sets in Japan always make me want to visit it!

Earl Grey: Name you favourite classic

I don’t read much classic but I really love the Count of Monte Cristo!

I TAG: Everyone who wants to do this, but I’m sure you already have because it’s a really old tag!

  1. Totally agree that Raven Cycle is hard to get into! It’s so…plotless. Characters are incredible though, yes. 😉 And nice choice for the Christmas one! It’s so absolutely true that Harry Potter becomes popular then. And yeah, I wouldn’t recommend ACOTAR either (I mean, I absolutely hate it). Terrific post! 😀

  2. I’m 100% with you on The Raven Cycle, I like the books a lot (largely due to the characters), but every time I started a new book in the Series it took me a while to get into them, because the writing style was kind of hard for me to get used to! The Selection Trilogy is also one of my guilty pleasure reads for when I need something really fluffy 🙂
